Squished Cans

Not too many people walk around the streets looking on the ground for garbage to draw. I do. My nephew Josh is also obsessed with garbage. He's like 3 years old. The only discussion he will have is about garbage trucks. Trash pick up is his deepest desire. Josh dreams of being a sanitation worker. He loves their uniforms, that they stand while the truck is moving and all the sounds the truck makes. This has been going on for a solid year now. Forget about policeman or astronaut, garbage men are his heroes. If I showed him a drawing of a dinosaur, he would yawn but if he saw this, he would say "garbage!" Then he would toss it in the trash can and wait patiently by the front door for the garbage men to make their rounds. I know how he feels, I have the same disorder.

I love the drawings and the story. Living in a rural area as I do, one can actually live the garbage dream: I have to collect my own garbage, and every couple of weeks, load up my truck and haul it to the transfer station. It's very satisfying.
