Macaroon

This is my latest ceramic piece. It has been fired once. It is waiting to be fired a second time with a clear coat on it. I showed this picture to Yun and she asked me what the dark grey thing was on the plate. I was a bit surprised because I thought it was pretty clear. I told her it was the shadow from the floating macaroon. Then it became obvious to her. Sometimes when I do things, I am so close to it I can't really tell if what I do works or not. Is anyone else confused?

I love all your ceramics...after all your post related to your ceramics, immediately i want to go home and want to touch my glazes, clays...Your drawings on your plates opened lots of new doors in my mind ...they are awesome !!!
i did not understand the shadow too but after read the name of your ceramic work, this made me smiled...i think it's very very nice...it makes us first confused/surprised and then smiled....like your drawings...

At first no, but,I see it now very clearly.Cool.
Reminds me of when Muttley would get a doggy
treat and float slowly in the air caressing
his tummy and saying "mmmmmmmm".

Kinda, sorta, maybe...

Have you seen Stefan Pabst's 3-D drawings? Maybe it will give you some ideas.

I was a potter in a past life and think your progress with the glazing is amazing.

100% got it at first glance. I actually saw it in 3D, like it was really hovering, and I did a double-take.

Obviously Yun hasn't trained you very well! Now shut-up and listen to your wife! Ohh and by the way what the hell is a macaroon?

My first thought was cool! A levitating macaron! So I got it straight away, and it makes perfect sense to me. I just don't like it when my macarons levitate away from me....

I thought it was a slot to insert coins.
