We were recently in Seattle. There happened to be the annual soapbox derby happening downtown in Pioneer Square. It was the craziest thing I ever saw. I posted a bunch of photos to my Instagram. I think of the soapbox derby as a bunch of small kids in rickety little homemade cars racing down a slanted hill, like the Little Rascals. This was very different. These cars were seriously made, using quite a bit if funds. Everyone had corporate sponsors. The racers and pit crews were all decked out in wacky costumes. The hill they were racing down was so steep, it gave me the willies. These things were going to go 80 miles an hours. Television crews were all over the place. I guess it is going to be on ESPN or something. It was a groovy thing to just happen upon.
