I didn't know what to expect on my way to Morocco. Will I like the food, will I get sick, are the people strange, will I get lost? I did this little drawing in the airport and on the plane as I read the in-flight magazine. the one thing I knew for sure is that I would do some great drawings while I was there. My wife made all the preparations. I was basically about to touch down in Marrakesh totally clueless. On the plane I kept singing the song by Crosby Stills and Nash, "Marrakesh Express". Yun had never heard it before.

My Favorite Thing

By now everyone knows how much I love squirrels. It is my wife's nickname for me. She calls me that because I clean too much and I'm always straightening everything up. That's what she refers to as, squirrel activity. Here is my new one on cardboard. I may be doing a series of animals with weapons on the streets on New York City. How about them apples.
There is an article about me at Juxtapoz magazine website.

Lost In Space

Britney has really gone off the deep end. It's actually not so funny anymore. She's getting into Anna Nichol territory. I don't know if anyone has thought of this or not but maybe she should move out of Los Angeles. If she lived in say, Boring Iowa, she may be less likely to be in all this trouble. I know it's not as exciting as Hollywood but it may be better for her head. Find a nice boyfriend who drives a milk truck or an auto mechanic. Try going to bed at 11:30 PM. It's not so bad. But whatever you do, please get the hell out of California. Pronto.

Card Broad

How is cardboard made? Paper and cardboard are mostly made from a fiber called cellulose that comes from trees harvested from plantations and forests.Wood chips are mechanically and/or chemically treated to release the fibers. This produces a pulp which is then mixed with large amounts of water to make a slurry (mush) that is passed over a continuous, rapidly moving mesh. The water is drawn through the mesh, leaving the fibers behind. This damp paper is then passed over a series of rollers to flatten and dry it, then rolled onto huge spools, and sent to factories for cutting and shaping. Each time paper is recycled the fibers shorten and lose strength, so new fibers have to be added. Some paper and cardboard are made from other fibers such as cotton or hemp. I plageurized this from online somewhere. I am really into drawing on cardboard at the moment.

Bird Of Prey

I never praise my own work but when I drew this even I was impressed. It seemed to come out of nowhere. I love how I did the colors of the pigeon. The purple especially. It really looks like a god damn pigeon. Good job Tommy Kane.

The Maharishi Yogi died recently. You will remember he is the dude who the Beatles hung out with. Behind Murray the K, Brian Epstein and Billy Preston, he was like the tenth Beatle or something. Anyway we are sorry to see him go (most of us thought he was already gone). He does make for a great drawing on cardboard.

Foxy Lady

I have been doing so many drawings on my new lined paper notebook that I knew it was time for a little change of pace. I found a piece of cardboard in my office, so I figured that would do just fine. I posted this on flickr and got a lot of funny comments about foxes drinking cappucinos and what not. Nick Lee said, "The other day, one of our two red foxes (lovingly named "Star" and "Fire") pounced out a mouse right outside my window at work. Even more amazingly, he had a shot of espresso after the meal. Shane Vorhaben said, "..i was sitting by one in Starbuck's just yesterday...he was sitting with a little girl wearing a red hoodie...." Amy Garlick said, "Foxes smell like armpits. Weird but true."
