Grey Scale

I saw my friend Butch Belair drawing one day and he used a light grey magic marker. I love how it looked so I gave it a try myself. I like the result. Ordinarily I would crosshatch the shadow. It appears more real this way. It's a nice little tool to add the repertoire. I just got back from a trip to Asia with my wife. I went to South Korea, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Beijing. So as a result there will be a lot of new interesting sketches and stories on the way.

WOW! The effect you got is stunning. This fire ladder is definitely casting a shadow!
It's beautiful in black and white. But I can't help ... I'd love to see it colored, too.

I think it's great in b/w, it's a nice contrast to what you normally do. I'm sure you must have some unique views of the Far East, can't wait to see what caught your eye!

Great addition to the palette. That drawing is especially eye-catching. I can almost taste the kielbasa from here.

Ditto on what the others have said. The gray marker really works well. This is the first thing that popped out to me in your drawing.
